The Gran Fondo Denmark 2018 course begins in the center of Grindsted and runs directly on Hovedevejen southeast to Hejnsvig and on to Vorbasse. Over the next 40 km to Egtved riders will have to go on smaller roads -  technically difficult with side winds and well-known climbs such as Blu Horse and Tørskind Hill. The first of three depots with fruit and water is at Egtved after about 60 km and the next 10 km is on main road - then the race will open when the peloton once again enters smaller roads.

From kilometer 90 and the next 15 km, the crucial split can be expected when the riders cross Østengård - the notorious rise from PostNord Tour of Denmark - and shortly after the cobblestone section at Hopballe. The last part is on main roads again before the finish in the heart of Grindsted - a total of 177 km and 1179 altitude meters.
